Twelve (12) Johnson Brothers Windsor Ware Wild Turkeys 10.5 dinner plates

  
For sale are twelve (12) Johnson Brothers (Bro, Bros) Wild Turkeys Windsor Ware dinner plates, approximately 10.5 in diameter. Hand engraved, with beautiful detail and vivid color. In excellent vintage condition, with no major chips, cracks or crazing. Light utensil marks can be seen from certain angles, which are typical of items of this age. Please review the photos for a detailed look -- I have not included photos of all twelve plates, but the plate shown is a good representation of the condition of all plates. From what I've been able to research, Johnson Brothers began making this style of pottery after WWII (around 1951).

In 2003, they moved production to China to cut costs. The newer pieces no longer have "Made in England" but "England 1883". The newer pieces also indicate " FROM an Original Hand Engraving" whereas the antiques indicate "An original" or "A genuine Hand Engraving" (as these plates do). A great gift for any collector!
