Set of 7 Johnson Bros Lugged Cereal Bowls Old Britain Castles Brown Multi

  
This listing is for SEVEN lugged cereal bowls in Johnson Brothers' brown multicolor "Old Britain Castles" pattern. Each earthenware bowl has a depiction of "Norris IW in 1792, " which is noted on the lower right edge of the image. "IW" notes that the castle is located on the Isle of Wight. As you likely know, this pattern was introduced in 1930.

This distinct pattern features a brown transferware with colored detail to the castle. The rim of each of these bowls has a short handle on each, opposite side. These lugged bowls are rarely listed and this many in one offering. The underside of each bowl is marked in brown, [crown icon] Johnson Bros. " Each bowl measures approximately 7 1/4" in diameter (measuring from lugged handle to lugged handle) and approximately 2 deep.

One of the bowls has a small chip on the underside of one of the lugged handles. This does not appear on the inside of the bowl. There are no other chips, cracks or repairs to these items. Please see photos to supplement this description.
