Early 1900, s Johnson Bros "His Majesty" Scalloped Oval Turkey Platter 17"x14" England. Backstamp: Brown Transfer of HIS MAJESTY, TURKEY, MADE IN ENGLAND BY JOHNSON BROS, a genuine hand engraving all decoration under the glaze detergent & acid resisting colour Pat Pend. This piece is one of the old, original pieces of His Majesty pattern from the early 1900, s. It is Pat Pend which means it was done before the US Patent was given. This is the authentic vintage Johnson Brothers piece with patent pending which means it was made before the patent was granted. The pattern depicts a beautifully rendered "Tom Turkey" design on a high-quality, scalloped, earthenware body. The turkey is walking through the field , In the background is a wooden fence, farm house and trees. Beautiful colors of red, green yellow tan on a brown background. This is a hand engraved transfer pattern.
The borders of each piece are accentuated with a beautiful array of fruits, nuts, berries, and foliage. The platter is in excellent 8.9/ 10 conditionwith no cracks or chips or crazing at all.
